Where Saints Speak & Stories Heal

Sacred fiction inspired by the mystics who changed the world.

Historical fiction inspired by medieval mystics for modern readers hungry for depth, beauty, and divine fire.

In a world of noise and hurry, I write stories that slow you down. Stories that transport you to sacred ruins and candlelit cathedrals. Stories where suffering transforms into purpose, and forgotten saints become fierce companions.

Welcome to my fiction library, rooted in faith, history, and the God who still speaks through story.

World Between Worlds

Before she was a saint, she was a girl on fire.

World Between Worlds is Jenny duBay’s unforgettable debut novel, based on the early life of Caterina di Giacomo da Siena, better known as St. Catherine of Siena, one of the most dynamic and beloved saints of the Middle Ages.

Set in 14th-century Tuscany, the story follows Caterina from her first mystical vision at age six to her quiet rebellion against the limited roles offered to women: marriage or the convent.

Refusing both, she carves her own spiritual path amid a world full of political chaos, city-wide violence, and a Church in turmoil. Her mystical gifts are both a calling and a burden, as she learns to walk the fine line between prophetic power and dangerous suspicion.

This is a novel of interior fire and outer war, of a woman who chose neither silence nor conformity, but divine purpose.

This is an outstanding book that does its subject justice. While this is historical fiction about the woman we now know as Catherine of Siena, it is firmly grounded in her real letters and Dialogues. Jenny duBay has crafted a beautifully written tale about a true mystic devoted to God who was surrounded by a tumultuous society and skeptical neighbors. The book drew me in from the first chapter.

I read page one and couldn’t put it down. It’s that kind of book. World Between Worlds engaged my imagination. Jenny duBay’s poetic writing style makes this not just a novel, but true literature. I can’t wait for the Angel Studios series based on the book. Not that they’ve agreed to this. I’m just trying to start a movement.

I love getting to experience the mind of one of the greatest Saints of all time. It flows so smoothly, and I really can take it all to heart. Thank you for such an incredible book.

I’m blown away by Jenny duBay’s writing skills. I felt as if I was standing in the shadows as the birthing scene unfolded in the first chapter. It was truly a heartbreaking experience. Then in chapter two, I found myself again an observer standing in the shadows, yet still close enough to feel the compassion of the women … The rest of the book continued this way, from beginning to end. This book grabbed me from the beginning, and never let go. I can’t wait for the sequel.

World Between Worlds captivated me from the very beginning, until the last sentence. Jenny duBay is a very talented and fantastic writer who is able to bring me right into the story as if I was experiencing it myself. I felt like I was brought right into Caterina's heart and mind, as well as the perspectives of other characters. The novel speaks to my heart personally, and to my soul, in deep and powerful ways. It's touching me to the depth of my being. The writing is amazing and the novel is very difficult to put down.

This is a wonderful book! The author Jenny duBay does a wonderful job setting the scene for 1300's Italy and the thought process and life of St. Caterina of Siena. I can see how close St. Caterina was with God. As I read the book I can picture in my mind what is going on, and I don't want to put it down! I would recommend "World Between Worlds" for anyone studying Medieval history, Catholic Church history, or Italian history.
